Over nearly nine decades, the Dimotakis Family Farm was virtually self-sufficient and grew a variety of fruits: figs, apricots, peaches, loquats, dates, oranges, lemons, limes, mulberries, melons, and grapes; vegetables and nuts: peas, beans, zucchini, avocados, olives, pecans, walnuts, and almonds. It also included a functioning olive oil plant, dairy, aviary, and livestock, and there was an outdoors wood-burning oven for bread baking; and bees were kept for gathering honey.
Between 1980 and 2010, the Dimotakis Family Farm produced several row crops used primarily for livestock feed, as well as raised and sold cattle, goats, and cockatiels.
The Dimotakis Family have been in the farming business for nearly 90 years in one form or another. In 2015, with the founding of HAY4YOU, the Dimotakis Family Farm began its next chapter.
As HAY4YOU celebrates 10 years in business, the company has grown into an expansive hay growing and reselling operation with a robust feed barn offering products for horses, cows, goats, sheep, pigs, rabbits, cats, dogs, and birds.
